We asked our community of powerhouse Black women a simple question:
“What’s the one side hustle every Black woman should consider starting in 2025?”

The responses poured in — real, inspiring, and rooted in experience. From remote gigs to purpose-driven work, these women are building wealth, freedom, and peace on their own terms. Here’s what they said.

The Remote Hustlers

It’s 2025 — the Wi-Fi is strong, and so is our work ethic.

Virtual Assistant:
One reader shared, “I started my own virtual assistant business supporting therapists and doctors in private practice. I handle their admin work remotely and around my schedule.”

She even turned her experience into an e-book and free checklist to help other women do the same — proof that there’s money (and mentorship) in your skillset.

Adjunct Instructor:
Another woman said she’s been teaching online for a local HBCU for four years with her master’s degree. Flexible hours, solid pay, and the chance to pour into the next generation — yes, please.

Consulting:
Several women mentioned offering consultations in their area of expertise — from healthcare to education to business management. You already have the knowledge; consulting just helps you monetize it.

Trading & Stocks:
If you’ve been eyeing those trading apps or curious about AI-assisted investing, you’re not alone. 2025 is seeing more Black women claiming space in finance and learning to make their money work for them.

The Creative Queens

For the women who love to create, craft, and curate beauty — these hustles prove creativity can pay the bills.

Body Butter, Candles & Herbal Healing:
One reader wrote, “I make body butter, candles, and practice herbal medicine and healing.” These products don’t just smell good — they build community, confidence, and generational wealth.

Baking for the Holidays:
Seasonal side hustles like baking or event planning are perfect for women balancing family life and extra income goals.

Content Creation:
From TikTok tutorials to Instagram micro-brands, women in our community are turning their daily routines into revenue. You don’t need a huge following — just a consistent message and something authentic to say.

The Service Providers

These women are keeping their communities running while building their own empires.

Tax Preparation:
“I have a tax preparation business,” one woman shared. “It’s recession-proof.” She’s right — tax season always comes around, and with certification, you can work remotely or locally.

Life Insurance & Notary Work:
Life insurance agents, notaries, and wedding officiants are using simple certifications to create new income streams.

Personal Care & Healing Professions:
Doulas, massage therapists, yoga instructors — all mentioned by readers — are helping other women heal while earning flexible income on their own time.

Cleaning & Event Planning:
From residential cleaning to planning events and painting houses, hands-on services remain timeless hustles. One reader put it perfectly: “I do residential cleaning.” It’s simple, direct, and profitable.

The Freedom Builders

Some women reminded us that side hustles don’t always mean more work — sometimes, they mean more freedom.

Real Estate & Property Rentals:
Several readers mentioned real estate and short-term rentals — even niche ideas like renting out vacation equipment to travelers. Deliver, pick up, get paid.

Building Inspector:
This one stood out — an unconventional but smart hustle that’s in demand and pays well with certification.

Early Retirement Mindset:
One of our favorite responses came from a woman who said she stopped chasing constant side hustles and started focusing on financial freedom instead.

She wrote:
“Side-hustles can rob you of your me-time. The key is structural goals — paying off your property so you can rent it out and live life on your terms. I spent six months volunteering in South America, improving my Spanish, and now I live in Europe working four days a week with freedom to invest and travel.”

That’s the kind of energy we’re bringing into 2025. Hustle smarter, not harder.

The Purpose-Driven Paths

For many Black women, the best side hustle isn’t just about income — it’s about impact.

Life Coaching:
A few women shared that coaching sessions tend to increase during the fall and winter months. Whether you focus on mindset, wellness, or business, life coaching allows you to guide others while walking in your purpose.

Teaching & Community Classes:
From coaching youth programs to leading workshops through local park districts, sharing what you know is a meaningful way to earn.

Holistic Healing & Wellness:
Herbal medicine, yoga, and spiritual services like doula work and energy healing were mentioned repeatedly. These hustles align peace, purpose, and profit.
